What's my background?

I’m not your typical EDI consultant. My background isn’t in HR - it’s in communications, and the creative/ cultural sectors.

In 2020, my career shifted when I worked on Power of Stories, a groundbreaking Suffolk exhibition featuring costumes from Marvel Studios' Black Panther. Co-curated with the Black community, comic book experts, and allies, the project amplified the voices of a historically overlooked community.

I led Aspire Black Suffolk, the community engagement initiative, and later founded it as a Community Interest Company. I also directed Power of Stories’ local tour and other Black cultural projects.

With demand for my expertise growing, I pivoted my own consultancy, Elma Glasgow Consulting, to help cultural, heritage and higher education sectors to embed inclusion into strategies. From community projects to academic research and authentic storytelling.

But I still see a huge gap in strategies where EDI could be driving real impact for more people.

My approach empowers organisations to authentically connect with diverse stakeholders, improve internal practices, and foster meaningful change. Whether you want to develop funding strategies that prevent tokenism, to community engagement and co-development, I can help.

📩 If you’re ready to bring inclusion into your projects, let’s talk!
